DUST AND GAS EXPLOSION TEST

XEFRA dust explosion testing capabilities are provided in dedicated industry-based laboratories.

The laboratory teams have extensive practical experience dealing with problems associated with powder handling and reactive chemical processing.

Dust and gas explosion services compliment laboratory testing capabilities.

Our ATEX Testing facilities include:

  • Combustible Dust Screening Test: Go and No-Go
  • Minimum Ignition Energy (MIE),
  • Burning Test, Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • Minimum Auto-ignition temperature of dust clouds in air on hot surfaces (MIT and LIT)
  • Dust and Gas Explosivity Lower Explosivity Limit (LEL)
  • Maximum Explosion Over-pressure (Pmax)
  • Dust Specific Characteristic (Kst)
  • Gas Specific Characteristic (Kg)
  • Limiting Oxygen Concentration (LOC)
  • Volumetric resistance of dust
  • Combustibility Index (BZ)

SITE & EX ASSEMBLIES INSPECTION

XEFRA teams of Experienced, Trained inspectors can carry out installation and testing for or within Potentially Explosive Atmospheres.

XEFRA firstly check that each piece of equipment to be installed within the Potentially Hazardous Area is:

  • Supplied correctly as per equipment specifications
  • Installed using suitably specified accessories
  • Installed to meet any specific conditions of use

XEFRA Technicians ensure installation is:

  • Installed to High Standard of workmanship
  • Tested, documented and verified

The steps are:

  • Initial Detailed Inspection for Ex Atmospheres
  • Periodic Inspection for Ex Atmospheres
